We, human beings, have secret goal of "pleasing everybody" or at least majority of us. Why do we always want our hair shiny and beautiful, especially for girls? Why do we always want our clothes to look neat and tidy? Why do we have two hours or more in the mirror? These are few simple proofs that living in this world includes pleasing the eyes of the people around us. When someone asks us, "What do you like in a companion? We usually say, "fun to be with, generous and can easily get along with. Now, wait for a second, what do we really mean by "magaling makisama"? Is it someone who is dependable? I mean very reliable? A person who is always at our side? Someone who doesn't know how to pronounce and spell the word, "NO"? Well, I could say that the person is "magaling makisama"!
It is true that up to now we have this "survival of the fittest" society. Majority always rules over minority. Thus, "pakikisama" exists. We have to do what the majority does in order to fit into their tastes, to gain friends and to be "in". Now is it right? Definitely, not! But in this real world, it is how it seems. The whole world is cheating, if you're the only one who doesn't then, "wala kang pakikisama". All your friends enjoy bullying someone and if you don't, you don't belong to the group. Do we realize at this point of life, the words, "walang pakikisama". Do we also think about the cause of that thing? It is great to be friends with everybody but it realy costs a lot. We do things that we really don't want, we agree to something that is awful and usually the wrong becomes right because the majority says so. We should always remember that big things come from small ones. If we can tolerate within ourselves to cut classes because it's what the majority does is not impossible. One of these days we will be tolerating and doing more illegal things like taking drugs and stealing just because majority dictates. Well, it's our lives! What is just ungrateful is thet we condemn someone who goes "against the flow", someone who doesn't do what we do, someone who doesn't care about being "in" to our tastes, someone who has the guts to stand on the ground, and who fights for the right. All that is to much is bad. We should know when and where to stand and in what we belive in. Stand for the right eventhough the majority cannot do so. We should know the limits of "Pakikisama". .
